Imperial Bayview Restaurant (皇景海鮮酒家), Sandakan

A little promo of my uncle's seafood restaurant in Sandakan. :p
Edit: My uncle no longer owns this restaurant. The management has changed a few years back. I'm not sure if the food is still as good, though.

This is the place my mum, sister, cousin and I ate throughout our stay in Sandakan (we ate there every morning and night).

Opening hours

Owned by Oceanwealth Trading Sdn Bhd, it serves dim sum (點心) during the day and Chinese-style seafood at night. And it's halal.

The dim sum wasn't too bad except for the occasional ones which I don't quite fancy.

Dim sum
This is the yummiest one I've had. YUM!
Don't know what this is but I think it has prawns in it.
Don't know what's in this one.
Custard-filled balls & Turnip-filled fried stuff.
Pandan-filled Sesame Balls
Chicken Porridge

There are more which we didn't manage to get pictures of.

The food was extremely delicious! If I were to eat there all year round, you wouldn't hear me complaining, except of the bill. I think I gained lots of weight just eating there 5 nights, 4 days straight.

Imperial Bayview's signature dish: Seafood platter

Roasted Chicken.Delicious!
Of course, there are many more dishes but 4 days wasn't enough to try all of them.

Drinks
Imperial Bayview's special healthy drink: Crystal Jade
Surprisingly it's not that bad, considering what it's made of.
If I'm not wrong, this is called Blue Lagoon.
Other drinks sold there are (more) fruit juices, Chinese tea, cocktails, mocktails, softdrinks.

DessertsMango-Avocado-Sago dessert
It's actually quite nice if you mix it well.
The white stuff is evaporated milk.
Sago & Melon with Santan (or was it milk?) & Ice Cream
The PlaceDay time
Evening
The only drawback about the place is the 36-steps stairs. Not suitable for old folks. Susan, the Marketing Manager of Imperial Bayview, said that she feels that it's not necessary to install an elevator or escalators as the place is owned by the Municipal Council and if at any time they decide to move the restaurant to a different place, say the future shopping mall at Harbour Square, the can't cart over/demolish the elevator/escalators. She said that for now they are targeting the younger people and also those who want to host events like weddings, birthday parties, farewell parties, etc.

Some of the people behind the delicious food and good service. :D
