Here's how we got him.
Mum & Aunty May went for lunch at Section 17 and there was a vet nearby. As Aunty May just got a puppy, she wanted to find out something so they went to the vet. There, they were told that there's a dog to be adopted. Rather than giving to the SPCA, the vet decided to help the owner, who gave it up, find a good home for it. Knowing that I've always wanted another dog, mum called me but I was still sleeping (and my phone was on silent mode). She then called chi to ask her to wake me up and call her back. When I was awoken by chi, in groggy mode, she told me to call mum back about a dog. I was like, "A dog?! You mean a toy dog?!" LOL. Mum told me about the dog and asked me to go to the vet to have a look at it. Had to wait for dad, who was out at that time.
Well, upon seeing him, I thought that it would've been a wasted opportunity to not have brought him home. So now he's with us.
It's not official yet as we're having him for a 2-day trial period. We'll decide on whether to keep him on Monday. He still needs a trim. So either way, we still need to bring him back to the vet. Well, looking at yesterday, everyone seems to like him. Fingers crossed that he'll be staying with us.
His original name's Hercules. He had been caged up for about a year as his previous owner didn't have much time to care for him. It's pretty sad. I believe that due to that, he's really quiet - loss of confidence. I've never heard him bark once since I entered the vet. Furthermore, he doesn't seem very steady when he's walking.
We decided to change his name as he doesn't respond to Hercules. My idiot of a brother wanted to first name him Pyle (short for Private Pyle from Full Metal Jacket). Then he said, "Or we could name it Herpies" (*smack*). Now, he is determined to call him Fatt Putt (it's the Chinese name for Yam Basket). Crazy fella.
Somehow, we came up with Uno. I wanted to call him 왕자 (Prince), but my sister didn't want to. So only I am referring him as 왕자 Uno.
Gonna blog about something else which happened on Friday.
Had SBPD tutorial and I was to present one of the tutorial questions. It was supposed to be presented last week but due to lack of time it was brought forward to this week. I was totally unsure on how to attempt the question. managed to get some help from June Ann who had class right before mine. I told her to SMS me once they had discussed that question in class. Boy, was I lucky! Her tip was very useful though I had to think out my answer. After I finished my presentation, my tutor asked me, "You aren't fresh from school, are you?" Me, being extremely blur that day, due to accumulated lack of sleep, was thinking, school? Primary school? Secondary school? I'm in college lah! A fourth year college student, why is he talking about school? Then he asked, "Have you worked before?" Then only I got his question. Haha.
Thursday is a holiday! Yippee!!!
